What is Dealer's Choice

Dealer's Choice is a popular poker format where players take it in turns to select games. The game is then played on rotation, either for an orbit or for a select number of hands.

This means that games can be played in any order players wish, and indeed the same game can be selected back-to-back.

What Games are in Dealer's Choice?

In theory, players could pick any game in Dealer's Choice, including non-traditional poker formats and those including Wild Cards. However, for the purpose of this article we will cover the traditional listpoker formats that are included in the Dealer's Choice bracelet event at the World Series of Poker (WSOP).

There are 20 formats split up as follows:

How to Play Dealer's Choice

Just like with any mixed game poker format, it is important to know what games you are strong in and what games your opponents are weak in.

That way, you can make sure you put yourself in profitable positions in games you are familiar with, and can avoid the sharks if a game you aren't as confident in is selected. Make sure you take time to assess your opponents' strengths and weaknesses before

Dealer's Choice at the World Series of Poker (WSOP)

Dealer's Choice first became a bracelet event at the 2014 World Series of Poker (WSOP) with a $1,500 buy-in event.

The following year, a $10,000 event was introduced.
